About Beat the Clock

Select a preset or custom target and press Start. Once the timer disappears, stop it when you believe the chosen time has passed. The closer you are, the better your score.

How do you play Beat the Clock?

Choose a target time, press Start, and stop the hidden timer when you think the chosen number of seconds has passed.

Can I choose my target time?

Yes. Choose 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds, or enter a custom target between 1 and 300 seconds.

Does the timer remain visible?

The timer is briefly visible when the round begins and then hides so you must rely on your own sense of time.

What does an early or late result mean?

Early means you stopped before the target. Late means you stopped after it. The difference shows how far away your attempt was.

Is Beat the Clock a reaction-time test?

No. It is a time-perception game that tests how accurately you can judge elapsed time without watching a clock.

Is my best score saved?

Your best result for each target is saved only in your current browser. It is not sent to a server.
